Boyd Kenter Thomas & Parrish Recoups Misappropriated Funds for Property Management Company
Raymond E. Salva, Jr. and Fiona E. Taus represented Plaintiff Sage Door Group, LLC, a property management company, against Defendant Leah Chaney, a former bookkeeper for the company. Plaintiff claimed that, after Defendant resigned on December 10, 2023, it was discovered that money was missing from Plaintiff’s accounts. Plaintiff sued, claiming Defendant misappropriated funds from the tenant and security deposit accounts. Defendant maintained she had not misappropriated funds, but rather the discrepancy was due to bookkeeping errors.
Damages Alleged: $20,897.93 misappropriated funds; and $66,750 cost for time spent auditing the records and reconciling the discrepancies.
Verdict: $113,326.61 for Plaintiff.
